THE ART OF SEEING DIFFERENTLY
Many photographers study other photographers – and they should. A wider study path encompasses painting, graphic art, and cinema – all of which contributes to a wider influence of ideas and inspiration. The challenge her was to create a portrait which reflected the individual personalities of the subjects.
I chose an influence from a David Hockney portrait to reflect the casual nature of the young man, and a pose from an older Vogue magazine for the young woman. Careful placement of the subjects within the existing elements of the room helped strengthen the final portrait design.
